Local Businesses Go Straight To Google’s 1st Page

Google Places SEO

Google knows its future is in local search and local listings………
because if you’re in Bristol and you search the internet  for a taxi and you get the phone number for a taxi company in Manchester, what good is that?
So what is Google doing to help its customers get local results ? Any search with a place name before or after the search word, is classified as a local search. For example typing into Google “landscape gardener” is Not a local search, but typing “landscape gardener Reading” or  “Reading landscape gardener” is a local search.

You will notice if you enter the local search into Google it displays a map to the right (from Google Maps) and a listing to the left of those places it found on the map. This listing with the small red markers lettered A to G are GOOGLE PLACES listings, and are the biggest opportunity for local businesses to get their message and their products and services in front of millions for FREE.

What this means is that if your business is listed in Google Places and that listing is optimised to be at the top of that listing, you get free advertising, you beat the normal listings game, that your competitors may have spent a small fortune on maintaining and it’s all totally free!
